Waterwise Directory is independent, Perth-only, and currently free to list. We do not sell leads, we do not run paid placement, and we never auction your contact details. This page is the pitch.

What a listing gives you

  • A profile page that ranks for your service in your suburb, with your business name, contact channels, services, and a Waterwise badge if you are endorsed.
  • Coverage on every suburb hub page you serve - the directory generates a page per Perth suburb, and your listing appears on each suburb you tick at signup.
  • Honest engagement counts. When a homeowner clicks your phone, website, or email button, we record an anonymous, deduplicated event so you can see actual interest, not vanity impressions.
  • Schema markup that AI assistants and Google can read. Each listing emits a LocalBusiness schema block so your business appears consistently in AI overviews and rich-result panels.
  • Inbound contact via your channels. Homeowners contact you on your phone, your email, your website. We are never in the middle of the conversation.

What you do not get (and why)

  • No bought leads. Lead-generation platforms sell the same enquiry to three or four installers; that's a race-to-the-bottom on price. We don't do it.
  • No paid placement above your peers. Listings sort by Waterwise endorsement, then ABN + insurance verification, then proximity. You cannot pay your way up the list. A homeowner sees the most trustworthy installers first, full stop.
  • No commission on jobs you win. A flat subscription means you keep 100% of every job. The directory's job is visibility; it ends when the homeowner clicks "call".

Three trust tiers

Every listing carries a tier badge so homeowners know what we have actually verified. We do not blur the lines.

  • Waterwise endorsed. Cross-checked against the Water Corporation Waterwise installer register. This is the badge that earns homeowners the $200 Irrigation Rebate, so it carries weight.
  • ABN + insurance verified. Active ABN, current public liability cover, and at least one trade reference checked. A homeowner can rely on the business existing.
  • Unverified. Listed by self-attestation; we have not yet cross-checked. Homeowners see this badge so they know to ask the verification questions themselves.

You start at the highest tier your evidence supports, and you can move up as you supply more documentation.

How signup works

  1. Fill in the List your business form (business name, contact, suburbs, services, ABN if you want to skip the unverified tier). Around 5 minutes.
  2. We cross-check whatever evidence you supplied (Waterwise register, ABN Lookup, insurance certificate if attached). Usually same business day; never more than 48 hours.
  3. We email you a draft listing for review. You confirm or amend.
  4. Listing goes live. You get a confirmation email with the URL plus a short guide on how to read your engagement counts.

Common questions

Why is it free right now?

We are pre-launch on installer onboarding. Founding listings stay free for an extended trial. When paid plans open, you get a 60-day notice and a founding rate locked in.

What happens when paid plans open?

A flat monthly subscription, currently planned at around $30/month per business. Same listing, same visibility, same engagement counts. No commission, no upsells.

How many homeowners does the directory reach?

We are pre-launch in terms of installer traffic - we built the directory first and are now onboarding contractors. We will publish honest visitor numbers on every listing once we have at least 30 days of post-launch traffic.

What if I am not Waterwise-endorsed yet?

You can still list. You appear at the ABN + insurance or unverified tier depending on your evidence. The Waterwise endorsement application is run by Water Corp; once you complete the course and join the register, your tier upgrades.

What if a homeowner complains about my work?

We expect every business to handle disputes professionally and in good faith. If a credible pattern of unresolved complaints emerges, we contact you first; persistent issues can lead to listing removal. The bar is low and the process is transparent.

Can I leave any time?

Yes. Subscriptions cancel monthly with no notice required. Your listing goes offline at the end of the current paid period. There are no lock-ins.
